Earlier I celebrated my 20th birthday with my boyfriend at JEM. We decided to celebrate it later since we were busy with our own stuff and what not. He brought me to Pepper Lunch for the first time and since it was my virgin trip there, I had completely no idea what to expect.
Pepper Lunch is a fast food steakhouse that allows us guests to make our own steaks however we want. The ingredients, mostly the meat, chicken and what not, will be served raw, and we get to cook it however we like it! DIY, I would say! I was very impressed with the concept I wanted to get everything off the menu.
I regretted not ordering the Giant rib-eye steak that my boyfriend Irwin ordered. I chose the Curry Rice with Chicken and Mushrooms instead but it was impressive too.
The curry is served separately from the main course so that you can have a choice of the amount of curry you want on your plate. In my case, I wanted it all!
I was such a noob at mixing the curry with the entire ingredients that were served that even Irwin gave me the -_- face.
Hahahaha in the end, he did the job for me. Such a spoilt girl I am!
The entire meal is served with a side dish of your choice, which is the mash potato in my case. It is reaaaaaaally awesome! One of the best mash potatoes I've ever tried!

Hari Raya kicked in 2 weeks ago (did I mention that Hari Raya falls on my own birthday??) and everyone's clad in their Hari Raya gear, including myself!

| 20 year old me! |
Felt like a genius when I paired this white H&M lace top with the traditional malay baju kurung bottoms. Felt so comfortable during the entire day of visiting. I would say that the Hari Raya hype died down right after the 4th day when everyone's back to work and school. Right after that, no one really had any mood to go visiting anymore. Made a few clever (in my opinion) decisions for this year's Raya event after suffering from many 'mishaps' the past years.
- No heels for Raya. After years suffering from feet aches and hurting the balls of my feet due to the heels that I wore, I decided that comfort is key, and comfort comes first when it comes to this kind of events, especially when you will be doing a lot of walking. Who says you can't look good in a pair of flats? It's all about choosing a pair that looks fabulous, which will then make you look and feel fabulous. Trust me, your feet will love you and thank you for this.
- Eat less and do not hog the dining table. Apart from saving yourself from embarrassing impressions, you will be doing a good deal to your own stomach. Hari Raya is known for the lavish amount of food and desserts, so if you fill yourself up to the brim after eating everything only at the 1ST house that you visited, you're down to have stomachaches at the 3rd house you visit. Every house will definitely serve you food, so eat less, no matter how fingerlickin' good this auntie's curry chicken is and how awesome that auntie's kuih-muih are like. You will be doing a favour for your digestive system, and also the auntie wouldn't have to cook extra food for the other guests.
- Smile when you have nothing to say when aunties and uncles ask you when you are going to get married. Do not reply " When are you going to prepare for your funeral? " no matter how funny you think it is.
Foresee myself to be busy with events coming up at work so I will probably be updating less often. Thanks for reading guys.. if there are any of you who do..
