    Makeup Loots

I probably mentioned here (did I?) that the one thing I can't live without is my eyeliner. I just feel that my eyeliner gives me a stronger look to my exterior and thus this has made me rely on eyeliners for me to look good and feel good. I can say that I do not go anywhere without my eyeliner. I even need to put a little hint of eyeliner on the top of my eyelids just to get across the street to meet my friends or to pop over to the grocery store to get something, even for just 5 minutes. I feel that the eyeliner is a staple accessory for me, something that I need to have with me. Or rather, on me.

So someone (have a strong feeling who this person might be) left a challenge for me to do for a week which is to WEAR NO EYELINER. Such a clever person for he/she knows that for the entire week I will be spending my days out instead of curling at home in the comfort of my own room where I do not need to feel insecure about having no eyeliner on. But I shall try this challenge anyway.

I have a huge makeup bag that I always carry with me wherever I go and I just chuck the entire bag into the bag I carry for that day. I made a mistake of chucking the makeup bag carelessly into my Longchamp backpack and I lean on to the backpack when I am in the train waiting for my destination, which meant that my entire body weight is pressed against my makeup bag which has tons of liquid products in it! So today, I opened up my makeup bag to find all my makeup products full of foundation grease on it. Talk about gross. I took out all of my makeup products, washed and cleaned my makeup bag and left it to dry. Then when I decided to clean my makeup products, I was quite baffled by the amount of stuff I have.

No wonder my bag is always heavy. I would say that I'm a makeup collector, judging by the amount of junk I have. Apart from eyeliners, I go crazy on lipsticks, lipgloss and all things related to lips. I have relatively dry lips and I usually have to whip out my chapstick and apply layers and layers and layers of chapstick to my lips to keep them hydrated and to prevent them from getting dry and peel off. Hey, don't think that I use ALL of these products on my face. In fact, I only use just these :

Stila Perfecting Concealer, Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer, Silkygirl Magic BB Powder Foundation,  Body Shop Baked to Last Bronze, L'oreal Paris Ultra Sharp Super Liner, Maybelline's Magnum Volum' Express : The Wild Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara, Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry Lipbalm

On a daily basis, these are the only products I use. I personally don't like using liquid foundation because it would just cake up on my face. I USED to wear liquid foundations and BB creams but I just feel that these liquid products make my skin look cakey and after a while when these liquid products oxidize, it turns into a different shade of color than the color it appears to look like when I start applying it on to my face.

Stila Perfecting Concealer is, in my opinion, THE BEST CONCEALER FOR BLEMISHES AND DARK SPOTS. I swear upon this product for it is definitely one of the best quality concealers I have ever tried. Just one tiny little dot of this concealer can make a huge difference. I paid $38 for this concealer at Sephora ( this product is not available in Sephora for the time being, I'm not sure whether Stila discontinued this product or Sephora just chose to not sell this product any more, but either ways, I am begging to get this product on the shelves again!) and you all may think like "OHHHH YOU PAID $38 FOR THIS SMALL THANG" but seriously, I would say that $38 for this wondrous thing is worth it because all you really need is just a tiny dot of this product and it goes a long way. My first tube of this concealer lasted me for 6 frigging months! Other brands of concealers that I use do not have the same liquid consistency as Stila's Perfecting Concealer and I usually need to pack on and on and on and on just to conceal blemishes, but for this concealer.......It's just amazing, I tell you.

Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer is also one of the best concealers in the market. When you swipe it on and pat it on your skin, it turns matte and gives off a powdery finish, which is why I use this only for my under-eye dark circles so that the product doesn't come off easily. It is pricey (paid $52 at Sephora) but for the same reason as what I have mentioned for the Stila Perfecting Concealer, just a little dot goes a long way. I have been using this concealer for my under-eyes for nearly 3 months now and I am really contented with it.

I am faithful only to Silkygirl's Magic BB Powder Foundation for almost 2 years and this is the only powder foundation that I swear upon. It doesn't change color when it oxidizes and it stays true to your own skin color. Plus, for a drugstore makeup brand, it has a very good coverage (not that I need it since my concealers already have very good coverage) and it doesn't wear off so easily. Unlike other brands' powder foundations, this one from Silkygirl is very lightweight and all I can say is that this product is indeed magical like how it claims to be.

I've been using Body Shop's Baked to Last Bronze bronzer for nearly 2 years already and I am still in love with it. Some bronzers are either too light or too concentrated, but for this one, it's just right. It is perfect to use this on your cheekbones to accentuate them but I am hoping that Body Shop decides to release one without any shimmer to it like this bronzer. Not complaining that I don't like shimmer, but I kind of prefer non-shimmery bronzers because it will appear more natural on to the skin.

L'oreal Paris Ultra Sharp Super Liner is the eyeliner that I discovered last year during the Halloween period. Initially I have been using Silkygirl's Precision Liquid Eyeliner but the tip of the eyeliner applicator always gets blunt after a number of times using it due to friction. So I tried this eyeliner from L'oreal Paris and I think it is a really good eyeliner for beginners. It is easy to control the movements of the eyeliner and you can make the perfect cat eye look with this eyeliner. Hmph, but too bad I can't use this for the next week, right?

I really like Maybelline' Magnum Volum' Express : The Wild Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara because it really does stay true to what it claims. It doesn't rub off, there are no clumps, it gives your lashes more volume and it really does give you the cat eye effect, even without the help of eyeliner! For a drugstore product, this is quite a pricey mascara but I wouldn't mind paying a few extra dollars just to get a good quality mascara that lasts long.

This Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry Lipbalm is given to me for free by this person who was giving out freebies outside of Expo when Watsons (or was it Guardian?) had a sale there. I tried it and yessss, I like it. It keeps my lips hydrated and it gives a little tint of color to my lips. Liking it a lot and I think I would purchase this when I run out of it.

Just a few days ago at work, my colleague Junie saw me applying makeup and told me that she has some stuff at home that she doesn't use at all and decided to give it to me as a gift.

Make Up Forever All Mat Primer , Make Up Forever Mist & Fix Make up Fixer Mist

I swear these products are so good, it really keeps your makeup in place and most importantly, it helps to prevent your makeup from transferring onto anything at all. The All Mat Primer has to be applied onto your bare face and this will make your makeup last a lot longer than how it usually does. the Mist & Fix Makeup Fixer Mist will set your makeup and prevent it from transferring. Thank you so much Junie!

    And...

My No-Eyeliner-For-A-Week challenge will commence today!

I used all the makeup products I have mentioned above (WITHOUT THE EYELINER OF COURSE) and I shall try to rock this look for the next 7 days. Woooo~~

P.S : Have been going on a really bad pastry rampage lately and this is what I had for breakfast. Red Velvet Cupcakes with Vanilla Icing and Red Velvet toppings, made by my sister.

Let's just say that this wasn't the only cupcake I consumed
