    Thick

Just a little something I've been wanting to rant about for ..... ages.

In sunny side Singapore, despite its mass in the globe of which we call Mother Earth, there are tons of places available to visit. From museums to malls to eateries to iconic buildings and what not. Theme parks, of course, are the favorite attractions to visit.

The only ever existing theme park in Singapore is the Universal Studios Singapore, where attractions, rides and shows based on popular films are staged at. It is, by far, the most popular theme park in this country because.....well, it is the only theme park we've got right now (besides the Escape Theme Park, does that place still exist now?) so what other competition does this park have?

Of course, everybody has been wanting to go to USS (short for Universal Studios Singapore, that's quite a mouthful) , people who have visited it bragged about it, those who haven't moan and complain about how they haven't.  And I, being lucky*, got myself a job in USS.

I noticed, right after getting this job, I suddenly found myself skyrocketing up the social hierarchy. Suddenly, people that do not keep in touch with me start talking to me all over again, distant relatives become...close relatives. Basically, I have so many people entering my life all of a sudden, and all for a cause.

I noticed though, that I always get pissed off at the same thing now that I am 'bestowed' with this life.

Person A : Eh you working in USS now?
Me : Yeah I am, and who are you?
    A : Oh, I am _____'s friend, he/she told me you're working there now.
    Me : Oh.
A : I need 3 tickets to USS, can I get tickets from you?
Me : My father doesn't own this company.
A : Alright then, can I at least get a discount?
Me : My mother doesn't own this company. Even if she does, I don't have anymore more tickets left.
A : Well, then can you help me ask any of your friends if they have any available tickets?

Seriously, how thick-skinned can you all get?

I understand the temptation to visit this park, I understand. I was once like you lot. But we, USS workers, do not have the liability of offering you discounts and tickets all the time. ESPECIALLY when we don't know you at all, or if our relationship with each other doesn't give me a good reason for me to get you a discount or whatsoever. It is RUDE.

I just feel that it is shameful of you lot to ask discounts or freebies from us. Don't you feel ashamed? And when we aren't able to give you those incentives, you get pissed off. Do you even have the right to be pissed off in the first place?

If the situation was reversed, you definitely would have wanted to save the tickets for yourself and your family (if you are a family oriented person, that is) or for anything else you have in mind. What I am trying to say is, you should be considerate enough to know that we definitely have plans of our own with these tickets and freebies that we have. You just can't go around asking for discounts waiting for someone to take pity on you and give you one. It fucking annoys us. If you are a family member or one of our relatives then maybe the situation would be a lot different, unless you are a distant relative that we rarely talk to or barely meet. Then that's another whole different situation.

And don't go "Oh can you help me ask your friend if he or she has tickets for us?" because bitch please, if I ain't giving you a ticket, what makes you think my friend here will give you one, let alone 3 tickets?

Bottom line : These tickets and freebies belong to US. We work here. These are OUR rewards. Do you think you deserve these stuff? Think again. You want those free tickets? Get a job here. Or else, fuck off.

If you can't afford the tickets to this theme park, then don't fucking come. Don't beg and grovel. You are just making a fool out of your own self.

*(When I mention lucky, that is up for you to decipher that point hahahahaha)
